Ok the original plan was to drive directly back to CT from Aspen. However, I was only hours away from Utah and some of the best National Parks in the country. So instead of driving Northeast I drove Southwest. From Aspen I drove to Moab, UT with a Jeep full of stuff, three pairs of skis, and a snowboard on the roof. Scott decided to fly to Australia with his girlfriend and said he couldn't survive another cross country ride in the Jeep. Below are some fantastic shots of Arches National Park. The shot directly above is my 2002 National Park Pass. I thought it was kind of cool to get the same shot of Delicate Arch. Moab is the off road capital of the country. There were some of the most incredible tricked out vehicles I've ever seen. Basically 80% of the vehicles there made my Jeep look like something Grandma would drive. Regardless, I took the Jeep on a 14 mile "easy" rated off road adventure. They actually rate many of the trails and provide maps just like ski mountains. At the end of the Jeep adventure was a fantastic rock formation/arch. I was checking out the view when someone across the way yelled to me that I was standing on a thin slabe of rock. Yikes!! Next stop. Capitol Reef National Park. |
