Ok, maybe the Uhaul was a bad idea. Clearly we felt no space constraints in our packing. Our view for hours and hours and hours...welcome to Kansas. Toto I can't wait until we aren't in Kansas anymore. The ride was so bumpy all of my attempts to sleep failed. I ended up spending most of my time playing scrabble on the computer. Scott on the other hand had no trouble catching some z's as illustrated here on day one. and day two... and day three... Kansas wasn't all bad. Decent sunsets as we continue our never ending drive west. Here I am sporting my new driving goatee. Even though it looks silly I thought it was fitting for the ride. Scott and I wanted to be in Aspen by Saturday at the very latest. We realized after the first day of driving that we were behind schedule and needed to pull some long driving days. So the last thing we needed was a 25 min long checkers game at one of the rest stops. Finally we arrive in Denver. My friend Becky put us up for the night and took us out on the town. We were also able to meet up with Scott's friend Eric. Here is a picture of the four of us at a dueling piano bar in Lodo called Sing Sing. I was also able to meet up with my oldest childhood friend Chris and his wife Joanne. They are expecting their first baby in June...congratulations guys!!!! Forgot to take pics of them, however, I'll be seeing them soon as they live in Boulder. Finally something exciting to look at!! Great view isn't it Scott.....Scott??? After 35 hours of driving and 2270 miles we finally arrive in Aspen! Here we are unpacking in front of our ski in ski out condo. Check out the view up the mountain and down into down. Pics of our condo. Spanking new bathrooms and kitchen. Here's a picture of the master bedroom (my room). Scott needed some time to figure out how he was going to arrange his room. A couple of days later Scott went to his room early one night to get it cleaned up and arranged the way he wanted. Before going to bed I checked in on his progress and this is what I found... I couldn't resist taking the monster Jeep (now named Jessy) for a little off-roading. I climbed up Smuggler's Mine and had a great view of Aspen. Stay tuned many more pics to come... |
