Ok, after 6 months on the road and 12,000 total miles I thought I could use a vacation. Since I've never been able to do anything cool for New Years (because of work) I decided to go all out and hit Club Med Cancun with a couple of college friends. Scott, Andy (Rico), and I in sunny Cancun. The view from our room. We would start the mornings with water areobics. I was able to learn how to finally get up on one ski and wake board. Narly dude! Rico next to our iguana friend Paco lover of bananas, pretty girls, and fine wine (the iguana not Rico...I mean Rico likes pretty girls and fine wine just not bananas...never mind). The GO's (group organizers) put on a fantastic show ever night. They were very creative and many of them were very talented. Basically we never left the Club Med compound. However one day we did muster the strength to take a sail boat tour to do some snorkeling on the barrier reef and visit a neighboring island. Unfortunately, we couldn't get Rico out of bed for our prepaid trip. In addition the wind was so bad they national park service closed the reef. So basically this turned into a booze cruise. My attempt at being artistic. Just thought this shot of our new friend Lori was cool with the birds in the back drop. Here is a typical dinner at our table. Here is a shot of Rico and some of his new friends. Just a quick shot of the New Years set up. This was by far the best New Years I've ever had...Finally!!!!! All in all a fantastic trip. Perfect in the sense that we enjoyed every single second and we were very ready to leave. I took wind surfing lessons and finally got that down. I was able to take out a Hobie Cat sail boat in which Scott and I promptly broke the rules and flipped...twice...I was able to get up on one water ski and wake board, plus play lots of sand and hard court volleyball, and even some scrabble. Check back on this page every so often as most of the pictures we took were with Scott's and Rico's camera. A trip like this wouldn't be complete without airline troubles. Scott and I got back to NYC 5 hours late. I didn't mind as I slept every single second on the way back...I didn't even get my free beverage. |
