Ah yes...Hotlanta! Home of my good friend Sundeep and Rob. This little stay turned into 8 days. Probably didn't help that Sundeep also was taking some time off to enjoy the fruits of his labors. Sundeep dedicated almost two years of his life and countless dollars to fully renovate and expand an 80 year old house in Buckhead. He and his roommates slept on the floor for months. Every morning they woke covered in an inch of dry wall dust. The job is 99% done and is Sundeep's pride and joy (and it's amazing what he did). Every room is wired for high speed internet and I was able to plug in and be on a house network that attached all the roommate computers. Each room also had speaker wires in the walls so wires weren't exposed for current or future sound systems. He thought of everything. Hey guys! Did Sundeep give you a discount on rent for difficult living conditions? Those who know him could probably answer the question on their own. The kitchen is really the centerpiece of the house. An amazing job with really cool appliances and an open seating area. We all know people hang out in the kitchen anyway, now Sundeep made it comfortable and big enough to hold the whole party. Sundeep and Rob built his deck (which is 20 feet above the ground) by hand. Amazing considering neither are skilled craftsmen. Ok...Sundeep and Rob screwed in the boards (the hard part in their eyes). Gee, I'm not a carpenter, but I thought setting 20ft high beams into the driveway, making it level then building the entire framework and structure would have been the hard part. Guess I have a lot to learn. Great job guys. Sundeep's master bedroom suite (ignore the roommate Spencer). A huge bedroom with big screen TV, 8 speaker surround sound with subwoofer, a walk-in closet the size of a room, and a bathroom almost as big as the room itself (with a shower that has five jets hitting you from all directions...now that's a shower). Is this guy treating himself right or what?!?!? A huge living room (this is only half of it) which people only use on Sunday's to watch the 3 TV's at the same time. Most of the time people hang out in one of the 4 bedrooms. Also this three season room is a plus. Feeling like I needed to earn the right to stay in this palace I helped Deep clean up the yard and drive way. Not a bad job if I do say so myself. Ok, the blisters on my thumbs gave away the fact that I've not raked a yard in more than 10 years. Guess what...I don't miss it. Good clean fun...we all decided to go out for bowling night. After raiding Deep's closet we were able to find bowling shirts for all of us. Yes I picked the most obnoxious one. For some reason it didn't help my game. The second picture is Sundeep, Rob, and his next door neighbor Keith (a doctor). Oddly Deep and I were the only ones who went out on the town after bowling...oh yea...we aren't working. he he We broke up into two team of three. The losing team had to cook the winning team dinner the next night. My team won so Sundeep, Spencer, and his girlfriend Lana made us dinner. We supplied the wine...all five bottles. The meal was great...I think. I was meeting a very close friend and his family in Atlanta for Thanksgiving. All the guys took off to go home on Wednesday. However, I ended up going out on the town with the neighbor Keith and meeting out about a dozen of Deep's friends that I met on various occasions earlier in the week. I'd like to apologize now to those who received 3:30am phone calls or text messages. I've got to get out of Atlanta!!!!! |
